Preparation steps
- infuse vodka with sumac; cover and set aside for 2 hours, stirring from time to time
- strain infused vodka back into the bottle through a fine mesh or muslin-lined sieve
- chill two martini glasses
- place all ingredients in a Boston shaker with cubed ice and shake really hard for 10–15 seconds
- double-strain through a Hawthorne strainer and into a fine-mesh sieve into two chilled martini glasses
- sprinkle sumac on top
