Preparation steps
- bash and thinly slice lemongrass
- crush and dampen black peppercorns
- shave lemon peel and slice lemon into rounds
- whisk lemongrass, peppercorns, lemon peel, elderflower cordial, caster sugar and wine to incorporate
- bring the syrup to a boil
- cool the syrup completely in the pan
- strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve into a jar and seal
- stir in the Cointreau
- add sangria syrup to a large jug
- add the remaining white wine, kiwi rounds and lemon rounds
- top up with ice
